Mission Statement

The New Town Success Zone is dedicated to enhancing community health, well-being, and academic achievement for children and families in Jacksonville's historically underserved New Town neighborhood. Through charitable services, education, and training programs, we strive to create a thriving urban core where every individual can reach their full potential.

Challenges in Jacksonville

The New Town neighborhood faces multiple crises that hinder progress and threaten the well-being of its residents:

Food desert

Access to fresh and healthy food options is severely limited, leaving families reliant on fast food or convenience store options, contributing to higher rates of diet-related health issues.

Beyond food, New Town is a resource desert, meaning that access to essential services like healthcare, education, and financial support is scarce, making it difficult for residents to break the cycle of poverty.

environmental issues

The community is also grappling with environmental challenges that disproportionately affect Individuals of different backgrounds from unsafe air quality to inadequate green spaces, further exacerbating health risks.
